Trusted Local Roofers in Bangor

From Ballyholme and Groomsport Road to Bloomfield and Rathgill, RoofersNI connects Bangor homeowners with trusted local roofers who carry full insurance. We also look after the rest of North Down, including Holywood, Donaghadee and Newtownards, so whatever corner of the coast you call home we can find someone nearby.

Living by the sea is one of the best things about Bangor, but it is hard on a roof. Wind coming straight off Belfast Lough and the Irish Sea drives rain sideways under tiles and slates, while salt in the air speeds up corrosion of nails, clips and metal flashings. Mortar on ridges and verges dries out and cracks faster than it would inland, and gutters fill with sand, leaves and debris blown in on the breeze.

Bangor's Victorian and Edwardian seafront properties along Queen's Parade, Seacliff Road and the roads behind the marina deserve particular care. Many still have their original slate roofs, ornate chimney stacks and lead valleys. They look wonderful, but once a few slates slip the rest can follow quickly in a winter gale. A regular inspection, ideally every year or two, catches loose slates and failing pointing before water reaches the rafters.

Further from the front, the larger estates built from the 1960s onwards tend to need fascia and soffit renewal, concrete tile repairs, moss treatment and replacement of tired felt flat roofs on garages and kitchen extensions.
